When I vistied Sri Vrnadavan Dham after Gaura Purnima I had a desire to go to Radha Kunda to have darshan a the samadhi of HH Bhakti Swarupa Damodara Goswami. I was only going to be there for one and a half days so I was wondering how I would manage it. I happened to see the car of my friend Dr Liladhar Gupta and found him on his way to that very place, so I joined him.
The beauty found in this relative world pales before the beauty of Krishna’s perfect form. People are very much enamored by the beauty of this world. The Vedic literature, however, offers us penetrating insight into the actual nature of material beauty.
It is with mixed feeling that I hear about the departure of my beloved God brother and close friend, Radha Kunda prabhu, from this world. He has gone to join Sri Sri Radha and Krishna in their nitya lila, somewhere in Gokula in some universe, but we are left without his loving friendship and association.
Dear Romapada Swami, Obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Thank you for writing and having the attached message forwarded. There are some points in your email which I would like to address. Firstly, your claim that the GBC doesn't have control over the temple board because it appoints only two members is misleading.
Since Janmastami and Mahavidya recently wrote about New Vrindaban's Giant Prabhupada Statue (see "Point of Order" and "The Big Bang") I thought I might add my own two cents to the discussion.
Yesterday some frustrated person shot and killed more than 30 people at Virginia Tech. A few years ago we had some snipers in this county, Montgomery County, Maryland, who caused worldwide attention. The snipers were two individuals shooting randomly at anyone. Lots of it simply has to do with anger coming after lust, as described in Bhagavad Gita As It Is:
We have received news of the untimely departure of Sriman Puru dasa, well known and loved by many devotees around the world.
On behalf of the Temple Council, we would like to invite the devotees for the 30th Anniversary of the installation of Sri Sri Radha-Manohara on May 4, 5 and 6, 2007. We are also inviting devotees who have served at the temple since 1968.
I've just heard that Suhotra das left his body in Mayapura. First I'd like to offer my humble obeisances at the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada and all my siksa-gurus. Then I will offer my obeisances to all devotees.
Yes, Radha Kunda Prabhu, was and continues to be my dear friend and God Brother and he also became my brother in life. In light of all the types I have met through our sanga over my lifetime, I found Radha Kunda Prabhu to have his very own special and exclusive candor, nearly shameless sincerity, unlike others who posture and position themselves almost in artificial imposition to the mainstream.
Below you will find the resolutions from our recently completed GBC meetings help in Sri Dhama Mayapura. You will find there are much fewer resolutions this year than in the past. There are only fourteen, and even some of those are routine decisions, such as when the next meeting will be in Mayapura.
Last night 11.4.07 between 6.30 pm and 10 pm a wonderful cremation took place. Comments were made “that the fire was practically smokeless”, indicating a soul in pure consciousness. And the roaring 6 meter high flame attracted many onlookers.
I wish to share some brief words in honor of our glorious friend and Godbrother, HG Sahotra Prabhu. I had the good fortune of gaining his valued friendship while we served together in the USA with the BBT Library Party in 1975-76.
I would like to share with all of you my great bereavement over the departure of Sriman Suhotra prabhu. I was very much worried about his health when I met him this year in Sridham Mayapur, but I could not imagine that his health condition has been so severe that only a short time afterwards he would leave this world forever due to heart failure.
For the first time in the history, a westerner receives an award at Sanskrit Faculty, Benares Hindu University. Bhakta Demian was a Christian monk when he joined ISKCON in Brazil and after studying philosophy, classical literature and linguistics at university, he set for India to study Sanskrit.
It is with fondness I remember Suhotra Prabhu, though I have had so many dealings with him in the past and if I would recall them all it would be far to entertaining. I will pay my obaisences to his feet and remember all the sincere devotional service he has rendered to Srila Prabhupada.
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the departure of His Grace Suhotra Prabhu from this world. Since joining the gurukula full time in 2004 he worked continuously on the study guide of the Srimad Bhagavatam, almost to the exclusion of anything else.
On Friday night at 9:36PM, my twin brother, our beloved Godbrother and most cherished friend, Mukta Kesa dasa prabhu (pictured with son, Chediraja in 1986) , left this world.
An American monk of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness was found dead in his room at the organisation's Mayapur headquarters, near here. The body of Roger Terrance, who was known as 'Suharto Maharaj' [Suhotra Maharaj] and died on Monday, was sent for post-mortem on Tuesday, ISKCON PRO Paresh Das said.
The Moscow mayor has allocated land to the local unit of International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) to build a temple despite objections by the Orthodox Christians who have threatened to renew their stir against the construction.
