Since Janmastami and Mahavidya recently wrote about New Vrindaban's Giant Prabhupada Statue (see "Point of Order" and "The Big Bang") I thought I might add my own two cents to the discussion.

New Vrindaban has been in the news during the last few months, what with recent eyewitness disclosures from Janmastami about Radhanath Swami’s alleged involvement in and support for the 1986 murder of Prabhupada disciple and dissident New Vrindaban resident Sulochan, and subsequent statements from both camps...

Please let me tell a story about this. During the summer of 1993 at New Vrindaban there was much talk and hearsay about Kirtanananda's alleged pedophilia. So much so, that I decided to conduct my own investigation to try to find actual eyewitness reports, not just speculation and gossip.

Although I had originally intended the following information to be revealed only after my book "New Vrindaban: The Black Sheep of ISKCON" is published, I think--considering the current circumstances with new information being admitted by eyewitnesses practically daily to the Sampradaya Sun...

You must understand however that very few devotees at New Vrindaban were aware of this 1967 transgression. Perhaps only Umapati and Hayagriva. Everyone else, including Radhanath, Kuladri, Devamrita Swami, came into the Movement years later after 1967.
