On Sunday 25th March 2007 Bhaktivedanta Manor Hare Krishna Temple near Watford will be holding its annual Rama Navami (pronounced Ram Naumi) celebration, from 12 noon onwards. The festival of Rama Navami observes the birth of Lord Rama.

Recently I saw a documentary which said there is a growing number of people are convinced that the NASA moon landing in 1969 was actually a very clever hoax. This subject matter is naturally interesting to many devotees because Srila Prabhupada himself was doubtful about the moon landing- - but more on that later.

Before ISKCON is ready to take on greater responsibility in society I believe it has to go much further to develop its own social infrastructure. Before he passed on, Srila Prabhupada left instructions for devotees to socially develop ISKCON after his departure - - the fifty percent of his work that he said he would have to leave for the devotees to organise.

Krishna Consciousness is not a small or irrelevant entity, something people can easily drift in and out of and then forget altogether. It seems to have had a marked or profound effect on virtually every member and former member. Today there is a wide range of devotees who have an interesting variety of relationships and perspectives on the movement. Among the first British and American devotees some are still very much involved today.
