In this and follow-up articles we will present a series of quotes from Srila Prabhupada on key issues and examine if ISKCON is being led by the GBC in compliance "by an inch" with these directions. Here we start with perhaps the most important question since November 1977 - did Srila Prabhupada direct the GBC to 'rubber-stamp' 'gurus'.
Krishna has multifarious manifestations and for the conditioned souls, perhaps the most important is His form as the sastra. The Vedic literatures are directly the guidance of the Supreme Lord and as such, non-different from him. They are the "sound incarnation" of the Lord. Therefore we find that all great acaryas stress compliance with the sastra without change and distortion - as Srila Prabhupada would say: "AS IT IS".
