Having read the character assassination attempt posted by Gokulananda Prabhu (ACBSP), we were faced with a spiritual dilemma. Does a devotee's lack of concern for fame or infamy supercede other devotees', multiple concerned personalities', right to know the Truth of events that so affected the movement, as Sulocana's murder did?
To the best of our knowledge, we have never met Gokulananda prabhu, but he alone could better advise all on how it is that he comes to know my mindset, however deranged that might be, well enough to comment on it. Like Tirtha's and Ravindra's charges before these, the individual's motivation is called into question when they comment on something of which they have no first hand knowledge.
Clearly, his attempt is to vindicate Radhanath's good name, but without being able to refute these first person accounts of events that everyone knows took place, that goal can scarcely be met.
If "sifting through those ashes" turns up the body of Taru das (Tommy Meyers), so be it. If "poisoned agenda" implies pursuit of The Absolute Truth, regardless of how unpalatable it may seem to "all my disciples who need me", then we must plead "guilty as charged". If Gokulananda prabhu wants to know the truth of these matters, we remain available for email communication at liberatedyogi@hotmail.com.
If, in fact, his agenda in posting his attack was to divert attention away from Radhanath over this matter, the opposite effect has been achieved. By choosing to answer some questions on this matter, those he wished to answer, Radhanath and his surrogates have opened the line of questioning that concludes with questions like:
1. What did happen with the Sulocana murder?
2. When?
3. What about the child abuse?
4. When did Radhanath first know?
5. Who did he confide in?
6. What did they decide to do?
7. When did they begin to implement their "save New Vrindaban from the karmis" plan that they each now claim was their own sole motivation?
Without answering these and a number of other related or relevant questions, the credibility of the "innocent until proven guilty, beyond any shadow of a doubt" defense is tenuous, at best. No one believes the lies, or the obscuring of the facts, or the concept that factual information is "too old" to be relevant. It goes directly to the heart of the problem that many believe is the root cause of all the difficulties in the movement. Most call it "mushroom philosophy"; keep them in the dark and feed them manure.
If "impudently expanding the absurd tale" means "telling the Truth", we have. Gokulananda prabhu seems to imply that we should remain silent about such matters lest we "murder the character of such a genuine good soul as Radhanath".
Whatever could we possibly hope to gain by revealing these facts now, other than a clear conscience? We hoped some of the more vocal of the GBC members would avail themselves of this policy, for their own welfare, as well as the welfare of Srila Prabhupada's Movement. This scandal was nothing we sought, but it was a necessary by-product of the mentality that was New Vrindaban at the time. Many others know of all or some of these events but they have thus far remained silent on these matters. Sri Galima knows well of these events. His email address is sriji108@aol.com.
Caitanya dev (Gopal Krsna), Caitanya Caritamrta (Kirtanananda), Krsna Das (Narayana Maharaj), all the same individual, was Gopal Krsna's Sankirtana Party in-charge for all of India. The entire godown was warehoused in the basement of the Vrindavan gurukula, and Radhanath and Sri Galima stole the entire contents right from under Gopal Krsna's nose. Daily for over three weeks, a taxi loaded with paraphernalia left the fog shrouded Ramana Reti Lane for the Delhi Road and a one hour drive to Tikli Village and Kirtanananda's hideout for the bad guys from New Vrindaban.
On Radhanath's orders, the paraphernalia was kept in Tikli until Sri Galima could move it, and his family, to Jaipur, where they stayed for one year. "CC", as he was called by Kirtanananda's followers after his re- initiation by Kirtanananda, was the person who turned everything over to these two. I know, because I was ordered to stay in Tikli and "hold down the fort", which we literally had to, from Gopal Krsna's gundas as well as the local swindlers, until Sri Galima could move everything on to his new Radhanath satellite center in Jaipur. Kirtanananda had delegated India to Radhanath to "initiate disciples on my behalf", as he had delegated Africa to Gyanasham das (aka Bhakti Tirtha Swami). To confirm the events of this period, visit CC's website at http://www.wlretreat.com, or email him directly at washingtonlakeretreat@yahoo.com.
Swarup das (Steven Hebel) has recently posted his email address on some of Navadvipchandra's postings at Flikrz. That address is hebelswarup@sbcglobal.net. He has made his email address available online and he would be able to add some to this discussion, having been a "Golden Associate" (NV umbrella financial group), and since his children were abused by Sri Galima. Sri Galima was never punished. I was forced to secret Sri Galima back into the states. From his arrival in Boston, he made his way home to his father, who paid to make his legal problems to go away. Sri Galima's father was a cattle rancher in San Antonio, Texas. Perhaps Gokulananda prabhu would like to explain Radhanath's connection with Sri Galima, how they funded Sri Galima's stay in India at Jaipur, and what help Radhanath was to Kanka and her children in their grief.
We await his response to these urgent matters, perhaps preventing further lawsuits. Perhaps Gokulananda prabhu would like to refute the first person testimony given by Nick Tsakrios (Doc Nick), Tirtha's old jogging buddy. When Nick complained to Radhanath about Tirtha making threats to him and other Chakradhari friends, it was Radhanath that told Doc Nick to keep his mouth shut because it was "authorized". Nick was told they were fringees and "couldn't understand the workings of the mind of a pure devotee", much the same as the arguments being used here by Gokulananda dasa to put forth this pro-Radhanath agenda.
Some dare to comment with no involvement in the events of the time period, or personal knowledge of individual motivations at the time of the events. Their comments should be given only due consideration. While the significant faults of our existence are far too numerous for Gokulananda prabhu to begin to, or to have to, document, we do however, thank him for his pointing out some of the highlights... vindictive, deluded, spurious, self-styled protagonist. While I was all of those things, "a leader" I was not. In the days shortly after Kirtanananda was attacked, he was not "the leader". Everyone who knew the movement knew who the leaders at New Vrindaban at that time were. It is a matter of public record. I was with Radhanath when "Chowpatty, a Simple Temple" was started by Dr. Desai (Nathji das (KRT) to satisfy the demand that Kirtanananda was placing on his rich Indian disciples to "create a working scale model of New Vrindaban in India" - New Vrindaban EAST, and I helped them incorporate the organization. I maintained the Tikli outpost where Radhanath and Sri Galima stored all the Sankirtana Party paraphernalia they stole from KRSNA-Balarama's Lotus Feet.
If "expanding the uplifting sound of reality" means keeping quiet about "pointless ghost hunts" and "morbid histories", we must challenge such an assertion. The "ghost hunts" and the "morbid histories" are, in fact, the product of those "warped power trips" he is warning us about. Let us not see another repeat of the same type of spiritual misunderstanding. The more devotees who become aware of the mistakes of the past, the fewer that will be fooled by the same logic in the future.
